Moonhead
Moonhead is a 2D puzzle-adventure metroidvania where you absorb and emit light to solve puzzles, survive shadowy creatures, and collect shards of your broken moon head across a dark forest, overgrown town, and eerie underground. A collaborative game from Sunfall Studios, showcased at PGDX Manila in 2025 and 2026.

The work behind the experience.
I handled gameplay programming, implementation, and testing for Moonhead. My main contribution was the game’s light-bridging mechanic, where the player creates traversable paths by interacting with the boundary between illuminated and dark areas. Beyond the core mechanic, I also developed and implemented gameplay logic for other parts of the game, including world interactions, environmental mechanics, enemies, and other supporting gameplay features that brought the levels together. Because Moonhead began as a 48-hour game-jam project, development required aggressive prioritization. We built player movement and a basic level first, then implemented the illumination mechanic before expanding the world and its mechanics. As the project grew beyond the original game-jam version, I continued contributing to the programming and integration of new gameplay features. When our scope became too large, we simplified encounters and cut features to keep the core experience cohesive, understandable, and playable.
